BRITISH LEAD

IN AIRCRAFT PRODUCTION PROGRESS WITH OTHER ITEMS MR. OLIVER LYTTELTON’S ASSURANCE. RIGHT TANKS BEING MADE NOW. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) RUGBY, July 14. The Minister of War Production, Mr Oliver Lyttelton, in opening a House of Commons debate on war production, said he was quite convinced that the lead in the air, particularly of equality, had been maintained. As for artillery, we had no reason to be frightened about how our equipment compared with that of the Germans. He declared: “We are making the right tanks now and we are going to make the right tanks in the future.”
