“HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME.” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame will be finally shown tonight. “THE CORSICAN BROTHERS.” Dumas’s strange story of a Corsican vendetta comes to the screen with all its drama and exciting adventure in “The Corsican Brothers,” which will be shown tomorrow night. Flawless direction and superb acting by the principals combine to make an unforgettable picture, and one that does full justice to Dumas’s historic tale. Briefly, it is the story of twin brothers of the Franchi family who are left to avenge the wiping out of their family by the powerful Count Colonna. The fact that there are two of them exactly alike is their strong card, and they succeed one by one in liquidating the Colonna brood until they reach the count himself and his cousin. The story rises to sustained and tremendous climax, with tragedy preceding the final consummation of the brothers’ oath. Douglas Fairbanks, Junr., in the dual role of the twin brothers, Akim Tamiroff as the count and H. B. Warner as Doctor Paoli are outstanding. There is an excellent supporting programme.
