REGENT THEATRE
“FIRE FLY.” “Fire Fly” will be finally shown tonight. “KEEP ’EM FLYING.” Heralded as one of the biggest comedy offerings in years, “Keep ’Em Flying,” starring Abbott and Costello, with Martha Raye, Carol Bruce, William Gargan and Dick Foran, will be shown tomorrow night, The picture is produced on a lavish scale, and is a background against Uncle Sam’s efforts to train an additional 50,000 officers for the Army Air Corps. Merging riotous hilarity with romance, songs and aviation thrills, the offering boasts of a big and brilliant supporting cast headed by Charles Lang and the Six Hits, made with the full co-operation of the War Department. Abbott and Costello portray air school “grease monkeys,” while Misses Bruce and Raye are seen as singing hostesses in a clubhouse. Gargan characterises a civilian flying instructor, while Foran appears as a circus stunt flyer who enrols in the school in order to be near Miss Bruce. Charles Lang portrays Miss Bruce’s brother, a flying cadet.
