BOMBING ATTACKS

ON ENEMY SHIPPING SCATTERED RAIDS ON BRITAIN. FOUR GERMAN AIRCRAFT SHOT DOWN. LONDON, July 8. The R.A.F. attacked enemy shipping last night, and more mines were laid in enemy waters. Enemy vessels off the Dutch coast were attacked by Coastal Command aircraft. All our planes returned safely. A few enemy planes were over Britain last night. In North-east England and South Wales damage was caused at several places, and there were some casualties. Four raiders were shot down off the north-east coast by one of our night fighter squadrons.
