EXPANSION OF BRITISH SERVICES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.39 a.m.) RUGBY, July 7. In a debate in the House of Commons on votes for the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, Foreign Office diplomatic and consular services, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Information said the estimated expenditure in the present financial year was £8,600,000, an increase of £2,435,000 last year. This was mainly due to the growth of expenditure on publicity services abroad and at home. The censorship was being conducted in the closest collaboration with the American authorities, and the British censorship had played a notable part in dealing with enemy agents in. the United States and Central America. The Secretary also referred to the use of films as an adjunct to the war effort and said the cost in this direction had increased and the quality improved. ______
