SALE AT FEUDING FAT SHEEP PRICES ADVANCE. DEMAND FOR DAIRY CATTLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, July 3. Prices for fat sheep, particularly wethers, advanced a full shilling a head at the stocx sale today, with a fairly large yarding. Butchers were keener than usual and a very good clearance is reported. In the store sheep market' advances were reported for stoic lambs, of which there was a moderate offering. Breeding ewes met good inquiry, but there were not many attractive lines. The dairy cattle market was very active with a good sale for good quality stock. Some pedigree Holstein cows sold at up To £lB 10s. The fat cattle market was somewhat cautious, and in some cases vendors’ reserves were not reached. Prime ox beef barely made 30s a 1001 b. Run cattle sold well with a good inquiry, but some passings were reported. The range of prices is as follows:— Fat sheep: Prime heavy wethers, 32s 7d to 34s 4d; extra prime 35s 4d: good 30s lOd to 32s 4d: light from 25s 7d; fat ewes, prime 20s 7d; good 17s lOd to 19s lOd: black-faces to 28s lOd: prime lambs to 24s Id; good, 22s lOd to 23s Id. Store sheep: Two-tooth ewes, r.w.r., to 295; four and and five-year ewes, 22s 8d to 23s 4d; five-year ewes, 20s to 23s 2d; m.a. ewes, to 24s Cd.

Dairy cattle: Pedigree Holstein cows. £lO 10s to £lB 10s; springing cows to £9 ss; heifers to £8 10s. Run cattle: P.A. steers £7 to £8 4s; weaner steers £4 17s to £5 7s 6d; yearling steers to £5 19s; cows £6 to £7; f. and f. bullocks, £8 5s io £11; fat cows to £8 2s 6d; prime fat heifers to £9 2s 6d; prime heavy bullocks to £ll 2s Gd (30s a 1001 b.).

CARTERTON Saleprices GOOD THROUGHOUT. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., report as follows on their Carterton sale held yesterday: A small yarding came forward and was' offered to a fair attendance. Prices were good throughout and practically a total clearance was effected under the hammer. The following are some of the realisations: Sheep: Fat hoggets 20s, 235, 23s 6d to 245; fat b.f.’s to 225; fat wethers to 28s 6d; ewe hoggets to 19s Gd; store wethers to 23s Gd; b.f. hoggets 15s to 15s sd; cull hoggets 9s to 10s lOd. Cattle: Jersey heifers on drop, to £l2; fat P.A. cows, £7 14s to £8; fat cows, £5 to £5 10s; forward cows, £4 7s, £4 12s, £4 15s to £4 16s; store cows, £2 10s, £3 7s, £3 10s to £3 12s. Pigs: Baconers, to £4; heavy porkers, £2 13s, £2 16s to £3; porkers, £2 ss, £2 7s to £2 10s; light porkers, 35s to £2; store pigs, 28s, 30s Gd to 32s Gd; slips, 23s to 25s 6d; weaners, 16s 6d to 20s.
