HANUI CROO.UET CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of members of the Hanui Croquet Club the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: Patron, Mrs D. H. S. Riddiford; president. Miss Eva Card; vicepresidents, Miss H. Card, Mesdames Wakely-Wilson, and White; captain, Miss Esme Card; vice-captain, Mrs Wilson; secretary, Miss Myrtle Nix; treasurer, Mrs Rasmussen. RED CROSS SOCIETY SUB-CENTRE MEETING. A meeting of the general committee of the Featherston Sub-Centre was held on Wednesday afternoon. Mrs G. S. Sharp occupied the chair. The quarterly report concerning the sub-centres work was read and considered satisfactory. It was decided to continue the card parties. Offers of assistance in connection with the earthquake were received from the Waikato Centre and the Hawera sub-centre. The offers were greatly appreciated. Appreciation from Soldiers. The following message was left in the Town Hall by. the soldiers prior to leaving the building which they had occupied for several weeks. “We really hate to leave this place. You’ve treated us with so much grace. From the bottom of our hearts we say‘ Thank you Featherston. Hooray!” COSY THEATRE TWO DETECTIVE PICTURES. The double feature programme tonight will be headed by outstanding detective dramas. In “The Penalty,’ the leading characters are taken by Lionel Barrymore, Edward Arnold and Marsha Hunt. The chief roles in “Strange Alibi” are in the hands of Arthur Kennedy and Joan Perry.
