ATTACK BY BRITISH FORCES ON ENEMY FLANK & REAR. FURIOUS FIGHTING UNDER WAY. LONDON, July 2. The British forces in Egypt are hitting back at the enemy. Last night fighting slackened somewhat while the enemy reorganised his troops for another attack today. This second attack was delivered this afternoon, when the enemy concentrated the whole of his strength opposite the northern positions attacked yesterday. A strong mobile force of infantry, guns and tanks swept round and attacked the enemy in rear and partly on his flank. The fighting since has been furious and there is no news yet of its progress.
