FIGHTING IN THE CITY STREETS

Admitted By The Moscow Radio FORTIFICATIONS PIERCED BY OVERWHELMING ENEMY FORCES RUSSIANS DOING WELL IN FIGHTING EAST OF KURSK LONDON, July 2. The battle for Sebastopol is now being fought street by street in the city itself. The Moscow radio admits that overwhelming enemy forces have carried the fight right into the city, after breaking through the fortifications. The latest news from the front round Kursk is that so far the Russians appear to have every reason to be satisfied with the results of the fighting east of Kursk. One message states that the Russians have driven a wedge into the German positions east of Kursk and that many Germans have been surrounded and wiped out.
