WEDDING
PARKER—DONALD. A wedding took place at the home of the bride, “Aberfeldy,” Masterton, recently, the contracting parties being Miss Ivie Helen Donald, daughter of Mr J. A. and the late Mrs A. Donald, and Mr William George Parker, of West Taratahi. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. S. Kings. Miss Constance Donald, sister of the bride, provided the necessary music. The bride, who was escorted by her father, was attired in a frock of white satin cut on classical lines, and worn with bridal veil and orange blossoms. Her shower bouquet was of spring flowers. Miss Elsie Donald was bridesmaid. Her frock was bronze taffeta shot with blue, and her bouquet was composed of freesias, lachanalia ,and autumn tints. The bridegroom was attended by Mr J. W. Parker. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride’s home which had, been most tastefully decorated. A large number of guests were entertained, Miss Peggy Donald acting as hostess. The bridal couple were the recipients of many beautiful presents. Amongst those was a special gift to the bride from the Junior Choir of the Masterton Methodist Church, Miss Donald having conducted their choir for some years. The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a handsome wristlet watch, and to the bridesmaid an arj handbag. Mr and Mrs Parker later left for Paraparaumu on their honeymoon, the bride being attired in travelling dress and musquash fur coat.. Mr and Mrs Parker intend to reside at West Taratahi.
