WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. ("Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of the Tinui Women’s Institute was held in the local hall, Mrs Speedy presiding. It was decided to make a special collection of old files in August. A discussion took place on the making of papier mache splints, a sample being shown by Mrs Beck. A humorous story was read by Miss O’Hara. The competitions resulted as follow: —Gingernuts: Mrs Street 1, Mrs O’Hara 2, Miss Street 3. Baby vest for Plunket Society: Mrs Street 1, Mrs Beck 2, Mrs O’Hara 3. Best bloom: Mrs Beck 1, Miss O’Hara 2, Mrs J. Bennett 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Andrew, Sewell and Tye.
