APPOINTMENT OF ZONING OFFICERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Minister of Transport, Mr Semple, announced last evening that he had appointed Mr H. M. Christie as zoning officer for the North Island. As already announced, Mr T. H. Langford has been appointed the zoning officer for the South Island. Arrangements have been made for Mr S. V. Raines, the No. 4 Transport Licensing Authority to take over Mr Langford’s duties as Transport Licensing Authority in the No. 3 District. “The present tire position,” said Mr Semple, “is undoubtedly serious, and it is essetnial that every effort be made to reduce the use of motor tires. The zoning officers have a very important job in this connection and they are making a start immediately.”
