THIRD IN WEEK

ANOTHER R.A.F. RAID ON BREMEN STRONG FORCE USED AGAINST VITAL TARGET. E-BOAT SUNK BY FIGHTERS. LONDON, June 30. The German port of Bremen was again attacked by a strong force of R.A.F. bomb- ' ers last night. It was the third raid in a week. Bremen is specially vital in the Battle of the Atlantic. It is the home of the Focke-Wulf aeroplane works and warships are built and based there. From all operations yesterday, nine bombers are missing. Referring to rumours circulating in Berlin that under a gentlemen’s agreement neither Berlin nor London will be bombed, the diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” points out that the present season is the least favourable for carrying out heavy long-range bombing because of the short periods of darkness. He adds: “Berlin is still on the list.” German aerodromes in occupied countries were also attacked last night. Fighters sank an enemy E-boat off the French coast and raked five goods trains with cannon-fire. The Rouen to Paris railway was attacked by a New Zealand pilot and a sergeant pilot of the same squadron. Five goods trains were damaged. Last night a few German raiders were over East Anglia and the East Midlands. There were a few casualties. Fires which started in one town were soon under control.
