ABORTIVE AIR RAIDS
ON GIBRALTAR & MALTA. TOLL TAKEN OF ENEMY PLANES. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 29. Gibraltar had an air raid alert, the first since April 1. Three enemy planes were driven off by heavy anti-aircraft gunfire. Bombs caused neither damage nor casualties. During last night’s two raids on Malta, fighters destroyed three enemy bombers without loss to themselves. Today enemy planes crossed the coast, mainly" at a high altitude. An Egyptian Ministry of the Interior communique states: “In the course of an air raid on the Alexandra area early this morning, a few bombs were dropped. The damage done was very slight.”
