EKETAHUNA.

LARGE CONGREGATIONS AT THANKSGIVING SERVICES. (“Times-Age” Special.) Thanksgiving services were held in the churches yesterday and there were large congregations on each occasion. After the Earthquake. Mr Du(ffill, county engineer, has been released from military duties in order to take charge of earthquake demolition in Eketahuna. A W.W.S.A. canteen has been opened to provide refreshments for the soldiers on duty in the township. The Post Office is operating in the Courthouse and is giving good service. The Borough Council has moved to the Fire Brigade Station, the Bank of New South Wales to Jeffaries Buildings and the Plunket Society to the District Nurse’s rooms.

Mr Baggs and Mr Myerscough, telegraph engineers, of Wellington, have been on a visit to Eketahuna supervising the telegraph and telephone installations.
