AT TREMENDOUS COST
GERMAN ADVANCE ON KHARKOV FRONT Unabated Ferocity of Fighting ALL-OUT ATTACKS BY RED AIR FORCE RESISTANCE AT SEBASTOPOL AS STUBBORN AS EVER LONDON, June 26. Reports from Russia speak of an unabated ferocity of fighting on the Kharkov front. The enemy advance in this area has been made at tremendous cost. Large formations of the Russian Air Force are hammering away at the Axis forces. At Sebastopol two fresh German divisions and one Rumanian division have been thrown into the assault. The defenders are resisting as stubbornly as ever. Hand-to-hand fighting is reported in the south and central sectors of the front.
