AIR FORCE RELATIONS

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. APPEAL FOR WOOLLEN SOCKS. At the monthly meeting of the Air Force Relations Committee, the following members were present: Mesdames Lord (in the chair), S. Gill, P. Latham, Ayling, Rishworth, Harcombe, J. A. Betts and Miss Patrick. Apologies were received from Mrs Sellar and Miss Carey. It was reported that during June the committee had been hostesses for one week at the Anzac Club, and expressed their readiness to serve at the club again when called upon. The committee would be glad to receive woollen socks suitable for making into mittens. Any colours can be used. The socks can be left at the Women’s Rest Rooms in Dixon Street, where members of the Air Force Relations Committee work on the first and third Tuesdays in every month. After the meeting 180 tins of food suitable for sending overseas were packed as well as a large box of woollen garments. The committee wish to thank the following helpers and donors of tinned food: Mesdames R. Ayling, W. Burling, H. Brickman, J. A. Betts, Brunton, T. Beetham, H. Beetham, R. Birch, D. Buchanan, Bodie, Blair, C. Bennett, W. Bunny, J. Bird, D. Baird, J. Caselberg, W. Cruickshank, R. Cunningham, De Groot, V/. Davidson, P. Fagan, S. Gill, Hosking, Harcombe, Hogg, G. Hyde, G. Jones, J. Lett, Longstaff, Laird Meredith, P. Nathan, McDougall, L. Maunsell, G. Moore, E. Norman, Rishworth, Sydney Smith, Wright, G. C. Williams, Winzenberg, D. Thompson, C. Yorke, Sellar, Misses Ashwell, Pearce, Guild, C. Morrison, H. Gill, Butement, W. Nicholls, McEachen, J. Hosking, E. Carey, O. Keith, J. Keith, Patrick and the Poro Poro school children for mittens. Parcels of comforts, knitted garments or tinned food may be sent to any member of the committee, or left at the offices of Messrs Dunderdale and Gray, Perry Street. The parcels will be packed and forwarded to Wellington on the 20th of every month.
