Mrs E. P. Cameron, “Pahaua,” Hinakura, is visiting Masterton. Mr F. Castle has been re-elected chairman of the Wellington Hospital Board. Mrs L. M. Meredith, Renall Street, Masterton, has returned from a visit to Wellington. Mrs F. W. H. Kummer and Miss F. Kummer, Renall Street, Masterton, have returned from a visit to Wellington. The death occurred at Pahiatua on Thursday of M.'rs Amy Matilda Wolland, relict of Mr John Wolland, late of Hamua, at the age of 64 years. Mr S. Orr, Sanson, has received official word that his brother, Pte. G. M. Orr, formerly of Masterton, has arrived safely in Egypt, after having been reported missing .for a year in Crete. The returning officer for the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board has received the following nominations for the two vacancies for producers’ representatives on the .New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board:—James Begg, Dunedin (sitting member); T. A. Duncan, Hunterville (sitting member); A. B. Moore, Whangarei. The death has occurred at Dunedin of the Very Rev John Dickie, M.A., D.D., principal of the Theological Hall, Dunedin, and an outstanding figure in the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. His learning and scholarship were widely recognised. Dr Dickie was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1875'. Ordained in 1906 he became colleague to the Minister ,of Tarland and Migic, Aberdeenshire,' and was practically in charge of Tarland when he received the appointment to the Chair of Theology in the Theological Hall, Dunedin. His value to the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand was recognised by the General Assembly in his election as Moderator in 1934.
