CIVIL DEFENCE
ORGANISATION GREATLY IMPROVED. IN INDIAN EASTERN PROVINCES. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day. 10.15 a.m.) RUGBY, June 25. A very considerable improvement has been made since the outbreak of war with Japan, by the Indian Provincial Governments, particularly on the eastern si’de of India, in organising and training their civil defence services, Mr Amery (Secretary for India) stated in the House of Commons. He added: “Effective co-ordination and direction have been provided by the Government of India, which is extending its training schools and has recently recruited a number of experienced instructors from England.”
