COMPETING DEMANDS

■■■■ ■ ON BRITISH BOMBER STRENGTH FACTOR IN LIMITING RAIDS ON GERMANY. MANY AMERICAN PLANES SOON TO. ARRIVE. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.0 a.m.) RUGBY, June 25. The sending recently of many bombers overseas for important work in cooperation with the armies in the East and with the Navy in the Atlantic is understood to have affected the frequency with-which very heavy raids can be delivered on Germany. It is hoped that this handicap will bo overcome as soon as American bombers are based on Britain in great force. Unfavourable weather of course has prevented raiding by either side, on many nights since the great raids on Cologne and the Ruhr were made, and another reason is understood to be the shortness of the nights in June and July.
