Mrs A. P. Bennett, Essex Street is visiting Napier. Mrs V. E. Donald, Lansdowne, has returned from a visit to Dannevirke. Mrs. C. Burnard, Lower Hutt, is visiting her mother, Mrs R. C. Drummond, Lansdowne. Mrs R. Hardie, Feilding, is staying with her mother, Mrs C. T. R. Richardson, Lansdowne. The death has occurred at Pahiatua of Mr G. O. C. Oxley, at the age of 74 years. For 52 years he had conducted a watchmaking and jewellery business in Pahiatua. The engagement is announced of Isla Maureen, only daughter of Mr and Mrs E. T. Wilton. “Jenolan,” Rangitumau, to Donald Mark, only son of Mr and Mrs R. J. MacDonald, “Totaranui,” Dannevirke. Members of the staff of the Masterton office of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., assembled yesterday afternoon to make a presentation to Mr lan McGregor, who is proceeding to camp. In handing him a money belt, the manager, Mr F. R. Garland, conveyed the staff's best wishes to Mr McGregor.
