Doctor Appointed.

At a meeting of the Buller Hospital Board yesterday, Dr. Windle was appointed medical officer at Millerton and Stockton, at a salary o'f £lOOO per annum, plus maternity fees and fees payable under the Workers’- Compensation Act. The Medical Association has arranged to provide the doctor with a free house. A request was received from Dr. Hass for nursing assistance at Denniston. The chairman, Mr Mclntyre, stated that the salary paid was now £1250, as against £B5O previously, and he did not think further expenditure was warranted. The board decided to forward the application to the Health Department for consideration.
