ACTIONS IN CHANNEL
ATTACKS BY BRITISH LIGHT NAVAL FORCES ESCORTED SUPPLY SHIP TORPEDOED. OTHER ENEMY VESSELS DAMAGED. LONDON, June 22. During recent nights there has been considerable sea patrol activity in the English Channel and the southern part of the North Sea, in which losses and damage have been inflicted on the Germans. An Admiralty communique states that early last Friday one of our patrols in the English Channel sighted an enemy convoy of two supply ships, escorted by an armed trawler and several E-boats. The larger of the two supply ships was hit by a torpedo and a number of the E-boats were hit by gunfire. One of our coastal craft did not return. On Saturday night our patrol forces made contact with an enemy patrol vessel and several E-boats. In a spirited action the enemy patrol vessel of 150 tons, was left burning fiercely and some of the E-boats were also probably hit. ' No damage or casualties were suffered by our forces. Last night a light coastal craft manned by Polish seamen sighted six E-boats, some of which were hit by gunfire. The Polish craft suffered slight, damage, but no casualties.
