ST. JOHN AMBULANCE

LARGELY-ATTENDED DANCE. WINNERS OF COMPETITIONS. The largest attendance on record at a dance held by the St. John Ambulance Brigade was reported at the brigade’s dance, held in the Municipal Hall on Saturday night. The hall was filled almost to capacity and the music supplied by Jack Barnes and his Rhythm Boys was thoroughly enjoyed and applauded by all. The ladies’ committee responsible for the supper arrangements was deserving of special praise, for the splendid manner in which supper was served to such a large number of patrons. During the evening Mr McQuade took the opportunity of presenting the Grand Prior’s Badge, which had just been received from England, to Mr G. B. Dean, Cadet Officer. The duties of M’s.C. were capably carried out by Lance Corporal K. H. Dean, and Mr C. S. McQuade, Cadet Superintendent. A Monte Carlo waltz competition was Avon by Miss Cairns and Gunner D. F. Dundson, and a Lucky Spot fox trot was won by Mrs V. Gray and Bombadier J. Neville. Mr McQuade thanked all patrons for their continued support, and announced that the Brigade would hold its next dance in the Municipal Hall on July 18.
