THIRD CORRESPONDENT

WITH NEW ZEALAND DIVISION. APPOINTMENT OF SERGEANT W. A. BRODIE. (N.Z.E.F. Official News Service.) CAIRO, June 20. The appointment of Sergeant' W. A. Brodie as third war correspondent with the New Zealand Division in the Middle East is announced. Formerly a sub-editor with the “New Zealand Herald” and the “Taranaki Daily News,” Sergeant Brodie is a brother of the well-known New Zealand writer, John Guthrie. The new correspondent was educated at the New Plymouth Ebys’ High School and at Canterbury College. He enlisted in March, 1940, and embarked for overseas with the 4th Reinforcements. Sergeant Brodie was wounded toward the end of last year when serving with the New Zealanders in the last Libyan campaign. His next-of-kin is his sister, Mrs R. Matthews. Mangarie Road, New Plymouth.
