DOUBLE SUMMER TIME

ENDING IN BRITAIN IN AUGUST. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) RUGBY, June 18. The Home Secretary, Mr Herbert Morrison, stated in the House of Commons that double summer time would not be extended beyond August 8. He said the advantages, including the estimated saving of fuel, which icsult, were insufficient to outweigh the dis advantages, particularly to agriculture, of the extension.
