GREYTOWN
LOCAL HOCKEY RESULTS OF SATURDAY’S GAMES. (“Times-Age” Special.) The games on Saturday in the south-. ern competition resulted .as follow: — u 7 beat G 2; A 15 beat E 1; H 8 beat D 1; F 11 beat B 1. Locally three games were played, but only one was a really good match. This was between C and G and was the best men’s game seen here for some time. In the first half the C te'am developed combination quickly and before Greytown had settled down had netted 3 goals. At half time the score was 5-0. In the second half Greytown proved thfemselves the equal of their opponents. Among the local players, AV. Trotman, C. Anker, R. Jury and I. McKenzie played excellently throughout. The last named at third full-back showed splendid anticipation, while the stick work of the others was inspiring. Dawber improved immensely in the second half, holding up onslaughts and putting his own side on attack frequently. W. Trotman and Brabender continue to improve in their’ play. The second men’s game was onesided, E being no match for the superior tactics of A whose team contained some well-known players. The ladies’ game between Kia Kaha and Kia Ora was one-sided, the former winning by 8 goals to one, the local players having, a territorial advantage practically throughout. Kia Ora conceded numerous corners from which Greytown, however, were unable to derive much advantage. Kia Ora is a team which should improve.
