MRS M. J. JARRETT.
The death occurred suddenly yesterday at the residence of her daughter, Mrs C. S. Williams, New Plymouth, of Mrs M. J. Jarrett, relict of Mr Richard Owen Jarrett, who about 40 years ago lived in Masterton, being a well known physical culturist, wrestler, boxer and athlete. She was born in Suffolk, England, and came to New Zealand as a child. She had resided at various times at Masterton, Wanganui, Feeding, Hawera, New Plymouth and Kopuaranga. Her husband pre-deceased her three years ago. She is survived by one son (Mr C. P. Jarrett, Kopuaranga) and three daughters (Mesdames J. O. Law, Raglan; F. J. Dobson, Dannevirke, and C. S. Williams, New Plymouth). One son, Lieutenant Owen Jarrett, formerly assistant county clerk in Masterton, lost his life in the Great Wal ’- 1 The funeral will leave Hyde s Chapel on Wednesday following a service at 2.30 p.m. for the Masterton Cemetery.
