Donation Acknowledged.
The Nursing - Division of the St John Ambulance acknowledge with thanks receipt of. a donation of £2O from the Red Cross Society. National Unity. The question of national unity was again discussed at a meeting between the Prime Minister, Mr Fraser, and the Leader of the Opposition, Mr Holland, yesterday afternoon. No finality was reached, and the discussions are to be continued. Routine Orders. Routine orders for the No. 13 Company, Line of Communication, .Motorised Transport, are: No parade will be held on Thursday this week. On Sunday, June 7, the whole company will parade at 10 a.m. at the Wairarapa Transport depot. On Tuesday, June 9, officers and n.c.o.’s will parade, together with any other of the personnel who wish to attend, at the A. and P. Rooms at 7 p.m. Unshielded Lights. The rear of the Masterton Post Office was brilliantly illuminated last evening and the glow could be seen for a considerable distance. The lights were coming from a room, the windows of which were uncovered, in which workmen were engaged in carrying out alterations to the Post Office. It is understood that the attention of those responsible has been drawn to this departure from the blackout regulations.
