DEATH OF WOMAN

DUE TO HEAD INJURIES BELIEVED RESULT OF FRACAS. A WELLINGTON TRAGEDY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A police investigation is proceeding as the result of a woman being found in a house in Boulcott Street, Wellington, late on Saturday night with an injury from which she died yesterday afternoon. It is believed that she had been injured in a fracas. The woman was Maud Purcell, aged 38, a widow. She was admitted to hospital at 11.30 p.m. with an. injury to her head and died at 3.30 p.m. yesterday. She was unconscious when she was admitted and did. not gain consciousness before she died. Though her injury did not appear extensive it was soon apparent that her condition was serious.
