It is officially stated that the Chinese have withdrawn from Kinhwa, capital of the eastern Chinese province of Chekiang. The Chinese retired from Kinhwa fighting grimly with bayonets and hand-grenades, and they left the city in ruins. In the Yangtse valley, the Chinese are reported to be meeting with some success. The Chinese in the Burma Road area are still keeping up their pressure on the enemy.
