SUCCESS ON SOUTHERN FRONT PIERCING OF GERMAN LINES. REPORTED BY VICHY RADIO. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) J LONDON, May 27. A Russian cavalry unit, in a fortymile sweep on the southern front, wiped out 2,000 Germans. Guerillas on the Leningrad front surprised a sleeping garrison numbering 400. After throwing grenades into the sleeping quarters, the guerillas mowed down the panic-stricken Germans with tommy-guns and killed 200 of them. , The Vichy radio stated that the Russian resistance southward of Kharkov is. becoming more stubborn. The Rus-
sians, counter-attacked in the IsyumBarvenkova sector and succeeded in piercing the German lines.
