RUGBY, May 26. 1 Three South African Air Force flight sergeants are returning to their squadrons after Hying from the Middle East to the United States to tour American aircraft factories. All were picked men with first-hand knowledge of conditions in the Western Desert. They went to America to give engine designers the benefit of their experience in the field, and to study the latest types of engines in the factories. They flew from Cairo to Washington in one aircraft in 52 flying houi’s, crossing the South Atlantic in 124 hours. / They worked hard during the three months they were in America. They studied engines and carried out tests under simulated desert conditions.
