The Supreme Court today refused to review a New York State Court judgment against the Banque of France in favour of the assignees of the Bank Nationale de Belgique. The suit involves 228 million dollars’ worth of gold, which the Belgian bank deposited with the French bank before the war for safe keeping. At present 749 million dollars are deposited in New York to the French bank’s credit, which is now attachable to the amount claimed.
