CRIPPLED CHILDREN SOCIETY
WAIRARAPA BRANCH ANNUAL REPORT.
WORK ACTIVELY PURSUED.
In spite 'of heavy demands for war service made upon members, the work of the Wairarapa branch of the Crippled Children Society, according to the annual report, has been actively pursued during the year. At the close of the year there were 115 active cases on the files. During the year the Welfare Officer paid at least two visits to all cripples in their homes. These visits are keenly appreciated. Every case has been carefully watched, medical examinations carried out where necessary and advice, guidance and help in various ways given where required. Mention is made of the great help given to the society by the late Dr. J. A. Cowie. The membership totals 130 and there are 13 life members. The society’s income exceeded expenditure by £2B. More time and attention is being given to vocational and educational avenues. Appreciation is expressed of the help given by individuals and organisations and reference is made to the excellent work of the Welfare Officer, Mrs S. N. Kilgour and of the secretaries, Messrs Dunderdale and Gray and the auditor, Mr D. B. Curry. The report is to be presented by the chairman, Mr E. M. Hodder.
