TWO MEN ON TRIAL

ON MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, May 19.

Two men appeared in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Kennedy today on a charge of manslaughter. The case arose out of the death of John Meagher, aged 63, farmer, Makarewa, after a fracas on the night of Sunday, February 22. Accused were William Lawrence, aged 42, farmer, Makarewa, and James Mann, aged 70, miner and rabbiter, Makarewa. The case was unfinished when the Court rose this evening.
