Exports from New Zealand during the 12 months ended March 31 exceeded imports by £18,573,000. This figure is £4.689,000 less than the excess of exports over imports during the previous 12 months. Imports have increased and exports have decreased. The overseas trade totals for the last three 12-monthly periods are shown in the following table:—
The exports during the three months ended March 31 were in excess of the imports to a value of a little more than in the corresponding period of 1941. All the values are expressed in terms of New Zealand currency.
