ZONING SCHEME

PETROL ALLOWANCE CUT. TO ENSURE SUPPORT BY BAKERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 17. To ensure that all bakers give thensupport to the city bread zoning system tomorrow, petrol allowances foi bread deliveries will be cut by 50 pci cent. Mr L. A. Woodward, who announced that he had received a letter from the District Oil Fuel Controller to that effect, said it was now obvious that bakers were powerless to refuse their support for the zoning scheme. When asked what compulsion had been brought on resellers, Mr Woodward said he did not know, but he predicted that there would be general chaos tomorrow. He for one did not know how much bread he was going to bake, as storekeepers in the district allotted to him did not know howmuch bread they would want.
