Unfortunately, owing to travel difficulties it was not possible to interchange visits with Centre clubs outside Masterton, although in dividual teams played a few friendly games with Carterton and Greytown members, the regret of all concerned Kean Trophy matches with Featherston and Lyall Bay clubs could not be arranged. A senes of ex ceedingly enjoyable friendly matches we interchanged with the Masterton Club. The Park Club was well represented in the Wairarapa Centre visit to P a ’T l ® rst °" North when matches were played vith the Manawatu Centre. For the return visit, Mannwatii nlavers were entertained on oui greens hi the morning. Delightful weather was experienced during both visits and the good fellowship existing between Payers o± the two Centres was further enhanced. Many improvements were effected to the greens prior to the commencement of the playing season. The edges of the large green have been boarded and for the excellen work done I thank all helpers and especially Messrs Dagg, Jenkins and Spackman foi their skilled advice and assistance. In addition the northern bank has been considerably widened. Towards the end of the season the lockers in the pavilion were subdivided and ample locker accommodation is now available for all members. The autumn top-dressing has been completed and everything is in tram for excellent conditions next season. Your committee negotiated with the 801ongh Parks and Reserves Committee in an endeavour to obtain improved pavilion accommodation. but, unfortunately it was not possible to reach terms acceptable to both P£ New Club badges have been procured and are available for sale to members. For the handsome design we are indebted to our secretary Mr H. Smith, who is to be congratulated on his effort. The Club flag presented bv Mr G Noad some years ago has become dilapidated and a new dag was unfurled on opening day. .... , , During the year, Mr R. Kilmister, an old and very popular member of the Club, was elected to life membership. Unfortunately, owing to ill-health, he was unable to take part in games during the season. It is with very sincere regret that the death is recorded of Mr F. Davie, a member of the' Masterton Club and honorary member of our Club. Two sets of bowls, comnlete with cases, have been bequeathed to the Club by our late brother bowler. The passim; of one of our former members in the person of M'r J. N. Wilder is also regretted After the close of the season an outstandingly successful Bowlers’ Dinner was held in ( the Savage Club rooms. Our members were present in force. On the committee which arranged the function, the Park Club was represented by the secretary and mysili. The balance sheet indicates that, despite a considerable outlay in improvements and increased costs, the finances of the club remain in a healthy condition. Thanks are extended to the vice-president and hon. treasurer, Mr Osborne, the hon. secretary,. Mr Smith, the selector, Mr Carr, and members of the committee for their loyal support and co-operation at all times, and to members generally. Thanks are also due to the Park Custodian and his staff for assistance so freely given and to the Press for publicity. e _ burke _ President.
