MAKOTUKU FARMER
KILLED IN CAR ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, This Day. Charles August Berjahn, a farmer of Makotuku, aged 67, suffered fatal injuries, including a fractured skull and broken leg, through being carried along by a car which apparently was cranked when in gear. Mr Berjahn had been to the railway station to see a relative off by train. Latpr he was found in an adjoining paddock, with a starting handle in his hand. The accident was not witnessed. Mr Berjahn leaves a widow and a grown-up family of ten. He was a wellknown axeman and chairman of the Makotuku branch of the National Party.
