MASS TERRORISM

VILE DEEDS OF HUNGARIANS IN YUGOSLAVIA ABDUCTION OF SERBIAN GIRLS. LEADS TO SAVAGE FIGHTING. (By Telegraph-Press Association—Copyright) LONDON. May 14. New mass terrorism by Hungarians has thrown Yugoslavia into a ferment, says the Ankara correspondent of the “Daily Mail.” The trouble started when Hungarian gendarmes abducted 50 girls from a Serbian village, took them to a barracks at Zabiak, and subjected them to disgraceful ill-treat-ment. The girls’ families and friends killed the gendarmes. The Hungarian com'mander in retaliation arrested and shot the assailants and ordered a punitive expedition. The Serbs held out for 10 days against the regular troops. When the troops overcame the civilians they rounded up 6000 men, women and children. The news has leaked out, though communications were cut, and the country is dangerously aroused.
