TOKIO REPORT
LOSS OF LARGE ESCORTED SHIP SUNK BY ALLIED SUBMARINE. IN SOUTH CHINA SEA. LONDON, May 14. The Japanese Domei News Agency states that a large vessel sailing under escort has been sunk by an Allied submarine in the South China Sea. The ship was hit by a torpedo and set on fire. It is reported that 541 people are known to have been saved.
