OBITUARY
MRS M. IBBETSON. The many friends of Mrs M. IbbeU son will regret to learn of her death which took place at her residence, 34 Church Street, Masterton, at an early hour this morning at the age of 84 years. The late Mrs Ibbetson had been a resident of New Zealand for 69 years, coming out at the age of 15 years to join relatives in Greymouth. In 1877 she was married at Nelson to the late Mr F. H. Ibbetson and for the next fifteen years they resided on the WesW Coast where her husband held position of clerk of court and warden at various centres, including Greymouth, Maori Gully, Ahaura and Lyell. In 1892 Mr Ibbetson was transferred to Masterton to the position of clerk of the court. Seven years later he passed away leaving a family of seven children. Mrs Ibbetson continued her residence in Masterton and her kind arid sympathetic nature won for her the esteem and affection of a wide circle of friends. She was an accomplished pianiste and was well known as a teacher of pianoforte and singing. Three of her sons served in the Great War, one of whom, Mr Charles Ibbetson, died in 1922. The late Mrs Ibbetson leaves a family of three sons, Messrs F. H. S. (Picton), O. G. (Cromwell), A. H. (Wanganui) and three daughters, Mrs E. J. Brown and the Misses M. and A. Ibbetson (Masterton) who will have the sympathy of many friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will leave the residence, 34 Church Street, at 2 p.m. tomorrow (Saturday) for the Masterton Cemetery.
