LIBERTY LOAN

SIX MILLION FIGURE PASSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Reserve Bank states that subscriptions to the Liberty Loan up to the close of business on Wednesday, totalled £6,238,990, made up as follows: —21 per cent 1947 stock, £2,300,180; 3 per cent 1952-55 stock, £3,938,810. Wednesday’s lodgments included Norwich Union Life Insurance, £25,000; General Accident Assurance Corporation £5OOO, and many other large subscriptions. The bank has received advice of a further £30,000 from the Invercargill Savings Bank, making a total of £140,>OOO, and £2OOO from the Permanent 'Building Society, Invercargill.
