BOY SCOUTS MEETING OF COMMITTEE. (“Times-Age” Special.) A meeting of the Boy Scouts Committee was held recently. Mr M. Priest presided, there being also present: Mesdames W. Olsen, M. Morriss, R. Farrow, Rev. G. E. Williams, Messrs N. Richardson, M. Brown, H. Rogers, J. Tolley and Scoutmaster H. Gray and Cubmaster H. Smith. Scoutmaster H. Gray asked to be relieved of his duties as Scoutmaster, and a committee of three was set up for the purpose of securing a successor. Scoutmaster Gray reported that a very successful camp had been held at Easter in the Newman Domain, at which nine Scouts from Pahiatua attended. Cubmaster Smith reported that there was a roll of 29 Cubs who were assisting the Home Guard. It was arranged to hold the annual birthday party at the end of June. The ladies of the committee decided to attend to the supper, birthday cake, etc. It was reported that the shop day had been very successful. The ladies of the committee and the volunteer helpers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks in connection with their work. Personal Items. Mrs J. Simpson, Marton, is the guest of Mrs F. C. Turner, Waiwaka. Mrs M, Petersen is on a visit to Petone. National Party. At a meeting of the National Party there was a very large attendance of town and contry members. It was decided to have a committee of men and women combined. A vote of thanks was passed to the chairman and retiring secretary. Mr O. Mason was re-elected chairman and Mr V. M. Anderson hon. secretary. It was decided to support Mr Mackley as a candidate for the Masterton electorate.
