BLACK-OUT TRIAL

ENFORCEMENT IN COUNTRY < AREAS. MASTERTON COUNTY APPOINTS WARDENS. The point was emphasised at yesterday’s meeting of the Masterton County Council that lighting restrictions were now being enforced in country areas as well as in boroughs. Th e council decided to call a meeting of country wardens, to be held at the Masterton County Chambers tomorrow night, at which wardens would be informed of their duties in connection with the enforcement of lighting restrictions. This decision followed on the appointment of wardens in Masterton County in respect to lighting restrictions. County residents were asked to take steps to screen their windows by blinds or in other ways so that the regulations were complied with. It was imperative that the work should be carried out before Monday night, as on that night a district blackout trial, including all country areas in the Wairarapa, would be held.
