RUBBER SHORTAGE
STRICT ECONOMY DEMANDED IN U.S.A. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 11.55 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 7. The Under-Secretary for War (Mr R. Patterson), at a Press conference today, said the rubber shortage was so acute that the time had come to stop Sunday trips, visits to Cousin Joe, and petting parties. He predicted that the need of conserving the million tons of rubber now rolling on the highways would demand a curtailment of sports.
