BIG INCREASE
SHOWN IN AMERICAN BIRTH RATE. (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright) (Received This Day, 10.40 a.m.) WASHINGTON, May 7. The United States birth rate, which has been climbing steadily since the time the draft was introduced, showed another big increase during the firs, three months of 1942. The Census Bureau said there were 9.3 per cent more births this quarter than in, the corresponding quarter of last year, bringing the rate to 19.5 per thousand.
