SMASHING BLOWS

STRUCK BY ALLIED PLANES IN BURMA DESTRUCTION OF JAPANESE AIRCRAFT. LITTLE CHANGE DISCLOSED IN LAND FIGHTING. LONDON, May 6. There is little news of land fighting in Burma, today. It is stated in London that the British forces are in no greater danger of being cut off than they were a day or two ago.

Blenheim bombers again attacked troop-carrying barges on the Chindwin River, 50 miles west of Mandalay. American bombers made another attack on an enemy occupied aerodrome north of Rangoon. It is now known that in Monday’s attack on this aerodrome 30 Japanese aircraft were wiped out and 25 more were crippled.
