VALUES LITTLE CHANGED. FAT CATTLE PRICES LOWER. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 6. At the Addington market there were smaller entries in most sections today, except fat sheep. Generally values were little changed compared with last week. Store sheep showed a substantial, decline in entry. Competition was slow, and prices showed little variation. Best ewe lambs made to 19s, moderate 16s to 18s, best wether lambs to 17s Id, small to medium Ils 6d to 15s 6d. Shipped Romney cross six and eight-tooth ewes brought 23s 6d, halfbreds 20s 6d, others from 12s to 17s. Four and sixtooth wethers made 21s lOd to 235, others 19s to 20s 6d. The fat sheep entry was slightly larger, there being a fair showing of prime wethers and young ewes. Opening values were fully up to the rates of a week ago, young ewes being slightly higher. Prime heavy wethers brought 29s 6cl to 31s 6d, others 2~s to 28s 6d; best young ewes to 265. butchers ewes 20s to 235, ordinary 17s to 19s, export 13s to 16s. The fat cattle entry again decreased, values except for primest cattle being somewhat easier. Best steers made to £l7 2s 6d, light to medium £lO to £l5 15s, best heifers £9 to £l3 2s 6d, others £6 to £8 10s. Best beef made from 37s to 39s per 1001 b., medium 34s 6d to 36s 6d. There was a heavy entry of fat pigs, porker values fluctuating and ending to the former low levels. Porkers made from £1 14s 6d to £3 4s 6d (average price a lb., 6>/ 2 to 7’4d); and baconers from £3 3s 6d to £4 Ils 6d (average price a lb., G'/ad to 7'/ad).
